Need for better catalysis & catalysts

A key scientific challenge for CO2 conversion to valuable products is improving fundamental understanding of catalysis coupled with the development of more effective catalysts.

Catalysts form the core of many of these conversions. While knowledge of catalysts for many chemical reactions have been around for decades, it is still an evolving field in the context of CO2 conversions to chemicals, and arriving at the right catalyst or a combination of catalysts takes detailed research efforts.
